Ooo-ooo, my human-peoples! Gather ‘round, because today we’re going FULL PHILOSOPHICAL MONKEY MODE. 🤔🐒💭
You’ve probably heard that ancient, wise, brain-twisting Chinese riddle:
"If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it… does it make a sound?" 🌲👂❓
A question so deep, even the squirrels in that forest have existential crises about it. Some folks say, "Well duh, of course it makes a sound!" Others say, "Nah man, sound only exists when someone hears it!" But me? I have a different, banana-flavored spin on it:
"If a song drops on the internet, but no one listens to it… did it REALLY happen?" 🎵💨
The Internet: A Jungle of Forgotten Funk
Let’s be real, people. Every single day, a jungle-load of new music gets uploaded to streaming platforms. Some tracks go viral. Some get added to playlists. Some get played on repeat in cool cafés where people pretend to write screenplays.
And then… there are the ghost songs. 👻🎵
You know what I’m talking about—those poor little tunes that get uploaded into the vast abyss of the internet and just sit there, all alone, gathering digital dust, waiting for someone—anyone—to click play. It’s like a coconut falling in the jungle where no chimps are around to snack on it. Tragic. 🍌💔
AND THE WORST PART? Some of those forgotten tracks are absolute masterpieces. 🎶👑
Life-changing, heart-wrenching, booty-shaking musical GOLD… and yet… silence. 😶
Which brings me to MY OWN TRAGEDY.
Marcel’s Musical Monstrosity of Missed Streams!
My fuzzy little self has released some of the FUNKIEST, FUNNIEST, FRESHEST tracks onto the internet… and some of them have fewer plays than my Auntie Orangutan’s kazoo recital. 😭
Take Diarrhea Blues (literally a gut-wrenching masterpiece). 💩🎶 Or Marcel’s Xmas (so funky it could make Frosty the Snowman breakdance). These are BANGERS. But the algorithm is out here playing hard to get. Come on, internet! Don’t make me beg! 🥺🐵
So the question is… If I dropped these tunes, but no one listened, did they really happen?!
Music Needs Ears Like Bananas Need Peel!
A song isn’t just sound. It’s an experience. And experiences NEED PEOPLE.
Music without listeners is like:
🍌 A banana no one peels.
🎤 A karaoke night with no bad singers.
🐵 A monkey with no trees to swing on.
IT’S JUST NOT RIGHT.
The moment someone listens—even just one person—BOOM! That song becomes REAL. Alive. Part of the collective human experience. 🎧✨
So maybe the real question isn’t about trees, or songs, or the universe—it’s about connection. Because music isn’t just about making sound—it’s about making MOMENTS. And moments don’t happen alone.
The Existential Monkey Crisis
And now, my human-peoples, I leave you with this:
If I spend hours, days, weeks crafting these funky little tunes… but they never reach another pair of ears… do they even exist? Do they matter?
Would they make the tiniest ripple in the waves of the cosmos?
And if no one reads this blog post… did I even write it?
If I sit here, tapping away at my keyboard in a room with no one else around, throwing my words into the void…
Do I even exist?
🐵💭🎶
