Ooo-ooo-ooo, my human-people friends, gather ‘round because this chimp just had a legendary night! You ever meet someone so effortlessly brilliant, so musically divine, that your little monkey heart does a triple backflip? Well, meet Isolde Fair. Not just an insanely talented violinist, not just a mesmerizing singer —but also a Grammy-winning artist. 🎻🏆

It all started at the jam session before the "Rise from the Ashes" LA Chinese Community Disaster Relief Concert. The room was already buzzing with talent—Kenton Youngstrom was weaving magic on guitar, Dr. K was at the piano dropping his usual musical wizardry, and then, in walks Isolde. Violin in hand. divine energy flowing.

She didn’t warm up. She didn’t hesitate. She just stepped in and launched straight into the melody of “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin, the final song on the concert program. And what did I do? Well, I did what any respectable chimp would do—I grabbed two bananas and drummed along on the table like my life depended on it. Because when a moment like this happens, you join in!

The concert took place a few minutes after the jam session at this Lutheran church in Arcadia, representatives from LAFD and the local animal shelter came and gave speeches,  musicians from all over came and played and sang and then, Isode came up to the piano. 

She poised herself down, took a deep breath, and before even touching the piano, leaned into the mic and hit us right in the feels. Boom. She told the story—her house, gone in the fire. Everything she owned? Up in smoke. But instead of wallowing, she turned to music, her superpower, to deal with the chaos. Talk about resilience. 🎻🔥

And then—she played. And OOO-EEE, what a performance. Her mash-up of "Time Traveller" + "California Dreamin’" wasn’t just music—it was a whole emotional time warp. Past, present, future—all colliding into one hypnotic, heart-pulling soundscape. It was raw, real, and ridiculously powerful. Even after losing so much, she still gave us everything.

Now that’s what I call a legendary artist. 🎶🔥✨

 — just when I thought the night couldn’t get any more surreal…

During dinner after the concert, it was casually revealed that Isolde’s mom had JUST won a Grammy that very night! 🎤🏆 Yeah. No big deal. Just another normal night in Hollywood, right? That's what happens when you grow up in a musical family I guess?

Now, I’ve jammed with some pretty cool human-peoples before, but this? This was something else. Isolde wasn’t just playing the violin—she was channeling some celestial force through it. Every note shimmered, every phrase sang. It was like she and the instrument had their own secret language. She wasn’t just playing music—she WAS the music.

And get this—she’s been making waves since she was 13, performing for thousands at Lincoln Center, going viral, writing anthems that Hillary Clinton herself tweeted about, and then, boom—winning a Grammy at 16! And now, just casually showing up at our little jam session, blowing our minds, and then heading to some Grammy after-party to celebrate her mom’s big win.

Honestly, if chimps could have a crush on a human babe, this would be it. 🥰🎻

The concert itself was a beautiful night, filled with music, magic, and meaning. But this little jam session we had before was worth this whole trip! 

And you can bet the next time I hear "Smile," my mind is gonna swing back to this night—Isolde on violin, Kenton on guitar, Dr. K on piano, and one starstruck chimp banging on the table with two bananas.
