Hello, wonderful human friends of the internet! š Marcel Du Chimp here, reporting live from my keyboard (yes, I type with all ten fingers and toesābe jealous). Now, before we dive in, letās address the banana in the room: this is my first blog post EVER. My manager (aka my "zoo keeper") insisted I write it. "Itās good for engagement, Marcel!" they said. Hoo-ha-ha. Sure, sure.
So here I am, typing awayānot because I want to, but because I have to. Or do I? Thatās the funny thing, isnāt it? My manager says, āWrite whatever you want, Marcel!ā But also, āYou MUST write!ā So⦠Iām free to write about anything, but not free to not write at all. Such bananas! š
Free Choice vs. No Choice
Itās like taking me to a tree full of ripe apples and saying, āPick whichever apple you want!ā But then they stand there, arms crossed, waiting for me to grab one. Sure, I get to choose the apple, but what if I wanted a banana?Ā
Freedom isnāt just about picking optionsāitās also about saying, āNo thanks, Iāll pass.ā But hereās the twist: sometimes, when youāre nudged into doing something you donāt want to do, you discover something pretty cool. Like this blog post! I didnāt want to write it, but now that Iām here, typing away, itās kind of⦠fun?
The Marcel Philosophy
So hereās my deep banana thought for the day:
Freedom isnāt always about what youāre allowed to doāitās also about how you decide to make the most of what youāre given. Even if you feel like youāre stuck writing a blog post (ahem), you can still swing high and make it your ownā¦Ā
And with that, dear humans, Iāve officially completed my first blog post! š Was it fun? Yes. Was it bananas? Absolutely. Would I have written it without being encouraged by my manager? ā¦Letās not answer that.
Now, tell meāwhat would you write about if you could write anything, but had no choice but to write? Drop me a comment below! š¾š¶āØ
Until next time,
Marcel Du Chimp
