Ladies, gents, and fellow rhythm-seeking primates,
Good news: The treehouse just got an upstairs lounge!
Yes, I’ve opened a new corner of the internet: my very own Substack. It’s a place where I can stretch out, pour a glass of metaphor, and let the music of words spill across the page without worrying about whether the bananas are ripe enough for Instagram.
Why Substack? Because sometimes a chimp needs more than a branch to swing from—he needs a stage to tell stories, share songs, and invite friends into the deeper grooves behind the music. Think of it as the after-hours set, where the lights are low, the bass walks slow, and the ideas keep improvising.
So here’s my invitation:
Come follow me there, sign up, bring your curiosity, and maybe even a snack. Every follow, every share, every comment is like tossing a log on the campfire or a coin into the band’s tip jar. It keeps the music alive, the stories flowing, and this little chimp fed and inspired to play more.
The first post is already live, called “Bananas!”, where I introduce myself properly (chimp, not monkey—very important distinction) and share a track from my music journalism collection that I thought would be fun to kick off the account with!

Let’s make it more than just a newsletter. Let’s make it a jam session in words and sound.
Stay tuned, stay human,
– Marcel Du Chimp
